Currently 1 in 3 adults and nearly 13 million children are obese in the United States.  This epidemic is leading to rises in blood pressure, strokes, Type 2 diabetes and heart disease.  There is research showing that obesity exacerbates pain, especially in the weight bearing joints, as well as affects balance which may lead to falls. Learn about how one center is offering a science based weight management system to promote a healthier lifestyle for their patients.

Mary D. Rachford, PT shares her knowledge and expertise on "One Physical Therapy Center's Approach to the Obesity Epidemic".

  • Understand the TLS (Transitional Lifestyle Solutions) Program and the role a physical therapist can have in offering a weight loss program to patients.
  • Learn about the 4 factors in the TLS program: low glycemic index eating, exercise, science based supplementation and education.
  • Understand how a detox program can affect a patient’s pain level and hear case studies on a young athlete, a misdiagnosed MS patient and a post-op laminectomy patient all of whom have had success with TLS.
